Jen was home from work today since it is Friday. I wasn’t feeling that great. I suspect that I contracted whatever sickness Larry had while in Alaska.
Not sure how bad it would be I still wanted to go forward with our trip to Orlando today.
Work was pretty uneventful except for a great meeting about the integration test server environment.
Jen met me at work around 4pm. We took her car and parked at the airport. Once at the airport, we checked in for the 4:50pm flight. Sadly we did not make it on the flight (Friday afternoons are rough for domestic travel).
The next flight was an hour later at 5:50pm. This flight was pretty cool because it is on a 777 plane. We made it on this flight, but it was mostly full and our seats were not together. I was in 54F.
I was feeling sicker so the flight wasn’t that exciting. We arrived into Orlando at 7pm. This was virtually my first time to Florida despite having flown over it five times on my way down to St. Maarten. I was in Florida briefly once before when Jen and I were stranded in Boston over Christmas. We took a song flight to Atlanta by way of Miami. We deplaned from the flight from Boston to Miami and literally ran to the gate next-door for the flight from Miami to Atlanta. Other than that, this was my first time in Florida.
Jen and I navigated around the specious and modern-looking Orlando airport. I liked it a lot. We found the rental car. It was a Taurus - much larger than what I signed up for, but then I had to pay more for making the arrangements at the last minute too.
Jen called Katie and then we followed the directions to the condo place where Katie and Chris are. Shortly after we left the airport we got a little lost but eventually found the place.
We met up with Katie and Chris. We all went to the condo and waited briefly while Katie and Chris took a shower. Jen made me some Theraflu while we waited.
Afterwards we all went out for dinner at Disney Downtown. I drove. We parked and ate at the Wolfgang Puck restaurant. I had sushi and we shared a bottle of wine. I loved it!

(Jen took this photo of me as we walked around)
Jen, Katie, Chris, and I ate and talked and had a good time. After dinner we walked around the ‘Disney Downtown’ area. One of the parts we walked through was the ‘Pleasure Island‘ night club area. Jen and I both noted that this had a different feel than normal night club areas. It seemed warmer and more inviting - not seedy.

(This was a cool lego sculpture outside of the lego store)
Finally we all went back to the condo and called it a night.
