TH-42PWD7UY

Our great friend Lynne asked if I could pick up her ex-bf (Mike) from the airport. I’ve never seen or met him before and he’s never met me before so it should be an interesting experience finding him.

An internet retailer called Plasma Depot is actually located north of midtown in Atlanta. I called them up and ordered the Panasonic 42″ plasma EDTV (TH-42PWD7UY). I arranged to pick it up locally from their office/warehouse.

I skipped lunch today and went to the Plasma Depot place and got the TV with no trouble. It was interesting to see the office & warehouse for this website retailer since they don’t have a normal ’store’.

I had a late meeting that lasted until around 5:30pm so I wasn’t able to pick up Mike until 5:45pm. I had no trouble finding him at the airport because he sent an email indicating that he will have a red camelback backpack on him.

Since neither of us have met before it was a little awkward. It didn’t make things much better that we were both introverts so the conversation didn’t exactly flow like water.

It turns out that Mike is a helicopter pilot for the Air Force and recently got here from Guam. When we got to my house, he helped me unload the TV from the car and carry it upstairs to the living room.

I opened up the salsa & chips for us to munch on while we waited for Jen to get home. Since we had some time to kill, I also unpacked and set up the TV. It was a lot easier to do this time since I knew what to do and that the wall mount was already installed.

Jen got home and we talked a little bit. She was pretty happy with the TV since I didn’t mention to her that I picked it up today.

Eventually we headed up to Taco Mac and met up with Lynne, Terri, Tom, Lisa, and Alan. I’m sure it was pretty rough for Mike to meet all of these strangers. Lynne seemed happy to see him.

Later, Jen and I came back home and went to bed.
