Today has been fairly uneventful. Work was a lot smoother than yesterday. The build I did last night appeared to work fine. The testing team ran a test and successfully drove an electronic ticket from the source database, through the intermediate object data & event engine, through our revenue pipeline engines, out to the data filer engines, and eventually to the ticket repository database. This was apparently an important milestone in our project as my manager was ecstatic one this happened.
She paged Brent, our vice-president, to let him know. She also asked me if I had my camera so I could record this momentous occasion. So I spent the next hour following her and Brent around to different floors of the building. They had me take pictures of the people in the different groups with work with.
Carole left at lunchtime and I went to the “Vortex”:http://www.thevortexbarandgrill.com/ in midtown with Casey and Alex. After lunch I spent the rest of the day working on Exchange Valuation.
Ram finally got his unix ID today. It only took three weeks. He still doesn’t have a computer. James asked me about a St. Marten trip next weekend. That could be fun!
I didn’t do anything else of note once I got home.
