My interests are:
Hiking: I’m not into overnight backpacking but I love day hikes, especially when the weather is nice enough to go in a t-shirt and shorts. I’ve been hiking all over north Georgia, southern Alaska, the Banff area in Canada, Colorado, Hawaii (Kauai), and in various locations in California
Skiing: I LOVE skiing. Ever since my friend Craig introduced me to it in 1995, I’ve done everything I can to go skiing. I’ve been skiing at Taos, Big Sky, Brekenridge, Park City, Deer Valley, Mammoth, Winter Park, Keystone, Jackson Hole, and Alta.
Tennis: Jennifer and I took tennis lessons in the spring of 2007 and since then it’s been consuming a lot of our time. We’ve played on several beginner leagues and enjoy it very much.
Traveling: I’ve been fortunate enough to have visited more than a few places - most of which are in my photo gallery.
Photography: I really got interested when I bought my first digital camera which was a Fuji Finepix 2800Z. Once I got into it a lot, I upgraded to the Minolta Dimage 7i and now I’ve gone to full-blown DSLR. I started with the Canon EOS 10D, moved onto the Canon EOS 20D, and now have the Canon EOS 5D.
Computers: What can I say, I’m a computer geek.
History
I grew up in San Antonio, Texas and went to William H. Taft High School. After I graduated, I went to college at the University of Texas at Austin for two years. I took a year off and moved to Atlanta with my parents and worked as an under-paid subcontractor for Delta Technology doing Unix production control. When I was about to move back to Texas to continue school at UT, I was offered a permanent developer position with Delta Technology. I took this position and went to school at Kennesaw State University in the evenings. Finally in May of 2002 I graduated with a BS in Information Systems. On September 24, 2004 I got engaged to Jennifer. On December 18th, 2004 Jen and I were married. Since then we have spent our time traveling around all over the place. At the end of February 2006, after nearly eight years, I resigned from Delta Technology and went over to Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. as an Expert Developer to do ASP.NET development. However after just six months I decided to do back to Delta and am currently working on back-end accounting systems (C++ & Java in unix) as a Senior Developer. Jennifer and I delivered a baby girl, Ansley Ella Billimek, on April 28th, 2008.
